Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  • Zapier account
  • Gumroad account plus a product
  • A Google Spreadsheet setup to Zapier specs

In Zapier

First, you’ll want to start creating a zap that automatically saves new Gumroad Sales to a Google Spreadsheet. Click the Use this Zap button here to get started.

Connect your Gumroad and Zapier accounts. After clicking Connect, simply log in and authorize the connection between Zapier and Gumroad.

Now choose a cool product in your Gumroad account that you’d like to automatically save sales of.

Now, you’ll be reminded of how exactly to set up your Google Spreadsheet to work with Zapier.

Now connect your Google docs account. Click on Connect to be redirected to your Google Docs account, asked to log in if you aren’t already, and authorize the connection between Google Docs and Zapier.

In the next step, choose the spreadsheet and sheet in the drop-down menu that you want to send Gumroad sales data to. Then use the “Insert Fields” button to map in data from your Gumroad sale to your spreadsheet columns. More on that process here.

After that, Zapier turns your Zap on and you’ll have the chance to test it out with sales from your Gumroad account. Now, information from new Gumroad sales will end up as rows in your Google Spreadsheet without any extra work!

Please be aware that it often takes Zapier 24-48 hours to update their dashboard when you make changes to your products. So, if you add custom fields to your product purchase form, Zapier won’t “pick up” that those changes have happened for a day or two.
